Meta confirmed it will attend a White House AI meeting on August 4, extending a broader pattern of Trump administration outreach to large technology companies as policymakers grapple with the pace of AI development. Politico first reported the meeting on August 3. Mark Zuckerberg was appointed to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology in March 2025, where he serves alongside Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, giving two major AI industry figures a formal advisory channel to the White House. Earlier in 2026, the administration also held separate meetings on data-center energy supply with Meta, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. The agenda for the August 4 meeting and the full list of attendees have not been disclosed.
