The gauge remains below the threshold for altcoin season, which requires 75% of the top 100 non-stablecoin, non-wrapped tokens to outperform Bitcoin over 90 days.
CoinMarketCap’s Altcoin Season Index fell to 45, down seven points from the previous day, indicating the market remains short of conditions typically associated with a broad altcoin rally. The index compares Bitcoin’s price performance with that of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, excluding stablecoins and wrapped coins, over the past 90 days. A reading qualifies as altcoin season when 75% of those assets beat Bitcoin in that period, while the reverse setup is considered Bitcoin season. Readings closer to 100 point more strongly to altcoin season.
