The South Korean exchange plans to open BSB trading at 3:00 p.m. KST on Aug. 7 with temporary launch curbs, Ethereum-only transfers and a liquidity condition that could delay the start.
Upbit said it will add Block Street's BSB token to its KRW, BTC and USDT markets on Aug. 7, giving the project three new spot trading pairs in South Korea. The exchange scheduled trading to begin at 3:00 p.m. KST, but said the launch could be delayed if sufficient liquidity is not secured. Deposits and withdrawals will initially be supported only on Ethereum, even though Block Street documentation describes BSB across Ethereum and BNB Chain, and Upbit told users to verify the supported network and contract address before transferring funds. Upbit plans the same opening restrictions it has used for other recent listings: buy orders will be blocked for about five minutes after trading begins, sell orders more than 10% below the previous day's closing price will be restricted during that period, and only limit orders will be allowed for roughly two hours. The exchange cited a previous closing price of 211.09 KRW and a reference price of 222.34 KRW at 11:45 a.m. KST on Aug. 7, while stressing that those figures were published before trading opened and did not reflect any post-listing reaction. Price moves on other exchanges before the scheduled launch therefore should not be treated as an Upbit listing reaction without time-matched trading data. Block Street describes itself as infrastructure for on-chain capital markets focused on tokenized equities and real-world assets, with a "Unified Liquidity Layer" intended to connect liquidity across issuers, blockchains and trading venues. Its documentation says BSB is the protocol's utility and governance token, used for governance, staking and ecosystem incentives. The project's whitepaper fixes total supply at 1 billion tokens and said 207.75 million BSB, or 20.775% of supply, were expected to circulate around the token generation event. Block Street also announced an $11.5 million strategic funding round in October 2025 led by Hack VC, with participation from Generative Venture, DWF Labs, StudioB and Bridge34.
