Industrial production strengthened from May as petroleum products led the increase, while food and transport equipment also posted faster growth.
Manufacturing production in the Philippines rose 13.5% year on year in June 2026, the fastest increase since October 2022, after a downwardly revised 12.5% gain in May. The acceleration was driven mainly by a sharper rise in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, which surged 89.0% from a year earlier and accounted for nearly 30% of the overall improvement in factory output. Growth also picked up in food products and transport equipment, while output remained strong in computer, electronic and optical products and basic metals despite easing from May. Weak spots included fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, and chemicals and chemical products, all of which stayed in contraction. For the first half of 2026, industrial output increased 8.2% from the same period a year earlier.
