Record first-quarter revenue of ¥1.81 trillion and strong finance and enterprise growth supported earnings, while SoftBank maintained fiscal-year guidance despite weaker consumer segment profit; one report put net profit at ¥155.07 billion.
SoftBank, the domestic telecommunications subsidiary of SoftBank Group, reported stronger-than-expected April-June first-quarter results for fiscal 2026, with operating profit of about ¥302.2 billion to ¥302.3 billion, above analyst estimates including a ¥275.54 billion consensus. Revenue rose 9% to a record ¥1.81 trillion. Net profit was reported at ¥155.07 billion by Jinse Finance, while another source reported net income of ¥150 billion. Results were supported mainly by the finance business including PayPay and by enterprise IT services. The company left its full-year outlook unchanged, targeting revenue of ¥7.5 trillion, operating profit of ¥1.10 trillion and net income of ¥560 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2027, even as consumer segment profit slipped 1% on higher promotional spending for smartphone subscribers.
