The launch adds instant minting, redemption and cross-chain bridging, giving BNB Chain users and AI agents direct access to a yield-bearing dollar asset backed by U.S. Treasuries.
Ondo has launched its tokenized U.S. Treasury yield certificate USDY, short for U.S. Dollar Yield Token, on BNB Chain. The rollout enables instant minting and redemption as well as cross-chain bridging, extending a permissionless tokenized U.S. Treasury product to one of the most active public blockchain ecosystems. The move is a key step in USDY's multichain expansion and is aimed at giving millions of users in the BNB Chain DeFi (blockchain-based financial services) ecosystem, along with AI agents, direct exposure to a yield-bearing dollar asset. By operating natively on BNB Chain, users no longer need to bridge the asset from other networks to hold a U.S. Treasury-backed instrument, while developers can use USDY as collateral in on-chain lending, trading and liquidity protocols.
