The new services aim to support an "agent economy" by giving AI assistants persistent online identities and user-funded wallets for purchases and transactions, Fortune reported.
Cloudflare has introduced identity authentication tools and a digital wallet service for AI agents, part of a push to develop what it calls an "agent economy." The offering is designed to let AI assistants shop and transact online on behalf of users. Under the setup, an AI agent receives a verifiable permanent online identity, allowing merchants to check whether the agent is acting for a real user. The wallet can be funded through bank transfers, with balances converted into dollar-pegged stablecoins, and users can authorize their AI agents to use those funds to complete payments.
