
The German industrial group reported record quarterly orders, revenue and industrial profit as data-center and factory software demand accelerated, while investors focused on a smaller-than-expected increase in full-year EPS guidance.
Siemens reported fiscal third-quarter results for the period ending June 30, 2026, showing record industrial business profit and order intake as investment tied to artificial intelligence boosted demand for factory software and data-center infrastructure. Industrial business profit rose 25% year-on-year to a quarterly record of €3.52 billion, while revenue increased 7% to €20.79 billion, above the €20.64 billion market consensus. Orders climbed 13% to a record €27.9 billion, taking the backlog to about €132 billion, and net profit rose 15% to €2.6 billion. The strongest momentum came from Smart Infrastructure, Siemens' electrical equipment business for data centers and buildings, where standalone orders surged 42% from a year earlier. Digital Industries, which provides factory automation software, also supported profit growth as customers increased spending on AI-linked industrial tools. Chief Executive Officer Roland Busch said "industrial AI products, which help customers accelerate innovation and boost productivity, are driving growth," and pointed to particular strength in the data-center business. Siemens raised its full-year earnings per share guidance for fiscal 2026 to €11.20-€11.50 from €10.70-€11.10, marking its second upward revision this year. Even so, Frankfurt-listed shares fell as much as 6% intraday after the announcement, as investors had been looking for a larger upgrade. RBC Capital Markets said the increase was "smaller compared to peers," while also citing uncertainty over the macroeconomic demand environment and the possibility that AI software could disrupt Siemens' own business. The results highlight how the company, alongside Schneider Electric and ABB, is benefiting from the global AI investment cycle even as markets grow more cautious about the durability of data-center hardware demand and longer-term competitive shifts in industrial software.
