The expanded engagement will use Infosys Topaz Fabric to bring agentic AI into Metsä Group's global IT operations across mills and offices.
Infosys said it has expanded its long-standing collaboration with Finland-based Metsä Group under a multi-year engagement to transform the company's IT environment into a more efficient, unified and AI-ready operating model. The deal covers end-to-end IT services across Metsä Group's global operations, including application management, cloud operations, workplace services, on-site IT/OT interface support, and service desk operations at mill and office locations. Infosys said its Infosys Topaz Fabric platform, an open and composable suite for agentic services, will embed agentic AI across Metsä Group's IT operations to improve service quality, speed incident resolution, support productivity and economies of scale, and help deliver cost savings while supporting automation, generative AI, and data-driven service management. Chief Information Officer Kristiina Lammila said the arrangement is meant to simplify and transform Metsä Group's IT outsourcing model to meet efficiency demands, while Ruchir Budhwar, V EVP & Industry Head, Europe, Manufacturing at Infosys, said the work reflects rising cost pressure, growing operational complexity, and the need for AI-led innovation in the forestry industry. Metsä Group said it posted EUR 5.8 billion in 2025 sales and employs about 8,800 people.
