V2X said it has been awarded an $87 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to overhaul SUU-79 pylons used on United States Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft. The wing-mounted pylons carry and deploy weapons, missiles and other mission-essential stores, making them a key part of aircraft lethality and readiness. Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Indiana, through January 2030. V2X said it has supported sustainment of Navy F/A-18 systems, including pylons, since the aircraft entered service in the 1980s and that the new award will use advanced repair and lifecycle sustainment work to extend the platforms' operational relevance and modernize frontline naval aviation capabilities.
