The Euro STOXX 50 edged down to 6,448 while the STOXX Europe 50 rose 0.1% to 657, with corporate earnings driving sharp moves across technology, pharmaceuticals and logistics stocks.
European equities ended mixed on Wednesday, staying close to the record levels reached earlier in the week as investors assessed a fresh round of corporate earnings. The Euro STOXX 50 slipped marginally to 6,448, while the STOXX Europe 50 added 0.1% to 657. Stock-specific moves dominated trade: Infineon fell 5.7% after guidance disappointed some investors, and DHL lost 3.7% after releasing results. Siemens Energy finished little changed despite beating earnings estimates, with orders hitting record highs thanks to demand tied to powering data centers. SAP rose more than 1% in step with positive signals from U.S. software peers, while Bayer and Argenx each gained more than 2% in a strong pharmaceuticals session. Outside the Eurozone, Novo Nordisk was flat even after upbeat guidance, as concerns about the outlook for its obesity business continued to weigh on sentiment. Glencore climbed 3.8% after issuing strong guidance and outlining plans for a secondary listing on the ASX (Australian Securities Exchange).
