The Aug. 5, 2026 rebrand keeps ownership, staff and operations unchanged while folding the Maine facility into Group 1's nationwide brand alignment effort.
Group 1 Automotive, Inc. said Ira Collision Center North in Saco, Maine, was renamed Group 1 Collision Saco effective August 5, 2026, as the Houston-based retailer aligns U.S. dealerships and collision centers under a more consistent national brand. The company said the facility will continue operating as a standalone collision center serving customers from any Group 1 dealership across Maine, not just nearby Saco stores, with no changes to ownership, staffing, repair capabilities or day-to-day operations. Group 1 has owned and operated the site since November 2021, when it acquired the market's Ira-branded dealerships. Dennis Steeves, General Manager of Group 1 Collision Saco, said the center was built to serve every Group 1 customer in Maine. Group 1 said the new name is meant to make its locations easier to recognize and connect the local repair shop to the resources, technology and operational standards of its broader network, which includes 251 dealerships, 312 franchises and 32 collision centers across the United States and the United Kingdom.
