PeckShield says a wallet linked to the TripleA breach sent 2,620 ETH worth about $4.97 million to Tornado Cash after roughly $10 million in crypto was stolen on July 25.
A wallet address linked to the hacker behind the TripleA breach deposited 2,620 ETH worth about $4.97 million into Tornado Cash, according to PeckShield. The Ethereum-based mixing protocol is designed to obscure deposit and withdrawal records, making transaction trails harder to follow. The movement comes after about $10 million worth of cryptocurrency was stolen from payment infrastructure firm TripleA on July 25. Earlier monitoring had indicated the attacker converted DAI into 2,620 ETH and sent funds through Tornado Cash, while still holding about $6.7 million in DAI.
