The battery storage company missed third-quarter estimates, pointed to manufacturing and project delays, and cut fiscal 2026 revenue and adjusted EBITDA guidance even as orders and backlog reached new highs.
Fluence Energy shares fell sharply after the battery energy storage company reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 results that missed Wall Street expectations and lowered its full-year outlook as production and project delays pushed roughly $400 million of deliveries into fiscal 2027. Revenue from continuing operations was $600.2 million, below the $848.2 million consensus estimate, while total revenue including related-party revenue rose 7.9% year over year to $649.8 million. The company posted an adjusted loss of 24 cents per share versus analysts' expectations for a 2-cent loss, adjusted gross margin fell to 5.9% from 15.4%, and net loss widened to $44.3 million from net income of $6.9 million a year earlier. Fluence cut its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance to $2.9 billion-$3.1 billion from $3.2 billion-$3.6 billion and lowered its adjusted EBITDA outlook to a range of a $30 million loss to $10 million in profit from a prior $40 million-$60 million. Despite the weaker near-term financial picture, quarterly order intake nearly tripled to more than $1.44 billion, backlog reached a record $6.4 billion, and the company said it had secured about $850 million of data center business through July, including its first large behind-the-meter order and about $550 million of awards from a hyperscale customer.
