Ajax has contacted Barcelona about signing Roony Bardghji, adding to a crowded field of clubs pursuing the 20-year-old Swedish winger as the Spanish side becomes more open to moving him on. The approach was made on August 6, and Barcelona is reportedly willing to consider either a loan or a permanent transfer, although its preference is a full sale that could still include buy-back or sell-on clauses. Bardghji arrived from FC Copenhagen for about €2.5 million in July 2025 and is under contract until June 30, 2029, with roughly €3.12 million in remaining gross salary. He has made only a handful of first-team appearances under Hansi Flick. Interest has also come from Juventus, Marseille, and Premier League clubs including Sunderland and Leeds. The club’s stance points to a broader push to improve squad economics, since a loan would only remove wages temporarily while a sale would bring in revenue and offer greater balance-sheet relief.
