Bitcoin futures volume on Binance reached about $57.82 billion versus $6.08 billion in spot trading, as spot demand weakens and options traders hedge for a possible downside break in September.
Bitcoin futures trading on Binance has pulled further ahead of spot activity, pushing the exchange's futures-to-spot volume ratio to a record roughly 7.82. The latest reading shows about $57.82 billion in daily Bitcoin futures volume against $6.08 billion in spot volume, with Bitcoin trading near $64,000 as derivatives activity grows faster than direct buying and selling. CryptoQuant data indicates spot demand has weakened in recent months, particularly as BTC/USD has remained rangebound above $60,000, while futures demand has stayed net positive but below levels seen during the rebound three months ago. Bitfinex Research also pointed to fading volume across spot and derivatives markets, saying traders were concentrated in the middle of the range rather than pushing for a breakout. In options markets, traders were positioned for the range to persist through August after Bitcoin's 7.4% gain in July, while hedging for a downside resolution in September.
