P&F acquires AVVie to add AngelValve™ heart therapy platform

Vienna-based medtech P&F said the deal broadens its next-generation transcatheter valve portfolio for mitral regurgitation, a disease affecting more than 13 million people in Europe and the United States, while no more than 5% of moderate or severe cases are treated.

Summary

P&F Products & Features GmbH said it acquired AVVie GmbH on August 6, 2026, adding the AngelValve™ Augmentation System to expand its structural heart disease and next-generation transcatheter valve therapy portfolio. AVVie, founded by cardiac surgeon Prof. Werner Mohl, developed AngelValve™ as a catheter-delivered, minimally invasive platform for mitral valve disease, including mitral regurgitation, in patients with limited or no treatment options. P&F said more than 13 million people in Europe and the United States live with mitral regurgitation, a condition in which blood flows back from the left ventricle into the left atrium, yet no more than 5% of patients with moderate or severe disease currently receive treatment. The company said combining AVVie's research and development infrastructure and intellectual property with P&F's capabilities in product development, clinical trials, regulatory affairs, manufacturing and commercialization should help accelerate innovation and shorten development timelines; financial terms were not disclosed.
