The open standard publishes verifiable, machine-readable trade records on Sui, with Astros saying more than 22 million records have already been tested on Walrus since April 2026.
Astros and Walrus Protocol have released the Walrus Verifiable Trading Standard, or WVTS, an open standard for publishing verifiable, machine-readable trading data on the Sui blockchain. The format is designed to let humans and AI agents parse trade records more easily while allowing independent verification that records have not been tampered with. Astros has been testing the approach through Astros Scan since April 2026 and says more than 22 million trade records have already been published with zero added latency. The full specification, reference implementation and developer toolkit are set to be released as open-source software under the Apache 2.0 license, a move aimed at broader adoption across platforms and blockchains. Jerry Liu, CEO of Astros, and Kostas Chalkias, co-founder and chief cryptographer at Mysten Labs, are leading the project. Walrus Protocol, whose mainnet launched on March 27, 2025 after a $140 million token sale, is built for large-scale data handling in AI and on-chain finance, with the WAL token used for payment, staking and governance.
