Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor said ChatGPT helped the company design preferred-stock structures including STRK and later the variable-rate STRC after common-stock issuance and convertible bonds became harder to scale for funding Bitcoin purchases. Speaking on The Diary of a CEO on Aug. 6, Saylor said his latest accounting tied roughly $10.5 billion of issuance to STRC and another roughly $4 billion to related preferred securities, bringing total credit raised for Strategy's Bitcoin treasury strategy to about $15 billion. He said advisers initially resisted the unfamiliar structure, while Strategy later sold some Bitcoin to show it could meet preferred dividend obligations without disrupting the market and reiterated a long-term bullish view on Bitcoin.
