BitMine said its Ethereum treasury reached 4.8% of ETH supply and total holdings of $11.4 billion, while BMNR shares rose and the company continued buybacks under its $4 billion authorization.
BitMine Immersion Technologies said it bought 9,926 ETH over the week ended Aug. 16, lifting its treasury to 5,815,164 ETH, or about 4.8% of Ethereum's estimated 120.7 million supply and roughly 96.4% of its stated goal of holding 5% of total supply. Using an Ether price of $1,893, the company valued the ETH position at about $11 billion and said total holdings were $11.4 billion, including 210 BTC, $78 million in cash and marketable securities, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries and a $73 million stake in Eightco Holdings, although an accompanying social media thread listed 209 BTC. BitMine said 5,067,309 ETH, or 87.1% of its holdings, were staked, generating a 2.61% seven-day annualized yield and supporting a projected $250 million in annual staking revenue, with a higher figure possible if the full treasury is staked. The company also said it repurchased 1.7 million shares last week, bringing buybacks since July 1 to more than 20.8 million under a $4 billion programme. BMNR closed up 3.68% at $18.73 on Aug. 17 and traded slightly higher after hours, leaving the company with a market capitalization of about $11.3 billion, near the reported value of its portfolio.
