Sentiment entered the Greed range as Bitcoin, Solana and other major cryptocurrencies advanced, but weaker stablecoin liquidity and Federal Reserve uncertainty left the recovery unconfirmed.
The crypto Fear and Greed Index rose to 62 on August 20 from 46 a day earlier, reaching its highest level since October 2025 as Bitcoin gained 8.8% to about $69,803, ether rose 18.5% to $2,259 and Solana increased 10.4% to $86.67. SOL’s market capitalization reached $50.548 billion and its 24-hour trading volume totaled $5.693 billion, while roughly $1.23 billion in bearish positions unwound. The rally followed the Securities and Exchange Commission’s August 18 proposal of Regulation Crypto Assets, but exchange-held stablecoin balances remained about 20% below previous levels and Federal Reserve policy uncertainty continued to cloud the outlook.
