Optimism and Flashbots announced new sequencing features for the OP Stack, including 200ms confirmations and programmable block building, to improve scalability and customization across the Superchain’s major layer 2 networks.
Optimism has expanded its partnership with Flashbots to enhance sequencing capabilities across the OP Stack, which powers the Superchain, comprising Base, Unichain, World Chain, Ink, and Soneium. The collaboration introduces fast, verifiable sequencing, including 200ms confirmations through Flashblocks, programmable block building, secure enclave-based fairness, responsible MEV capture, and spam resistance. These tools will allow builders to differentiate chains, capture value, and scale faster. Flashblocks is already live on Base and Unichain, with deployment to OP Mainnet and other Superchain networks planned. Optimism stated the partnership accelerates its roadmap toward faster, cheaper, and customizable sequencing.
