Polygon Labs appoints John Egan, known for leading Stripe’s key crypto acquisitions and blockchain development, to drive advancements in payment experiences and stablecoin micropayments.
John Egan, previously head of crypto at Stripe, has joined Polygon Labs as Chief Product Officer, focusing on improving payment experiences and supporting stablecoin micropayments. At Stripe, Egan directed the $1.1 billion acquisition of stablecoin firm Bridge, the purchase of wallet company Privy, and the launch of its in-house blockchain, Tempo. Polygon reported strong adoption metrics in July, including $2.9 billion in stablecoin circulation and over 4.5 million active addresses, surpassing Ethereum in activity. Egan highlighted Polygon’s potential role in the future of micropayment systems.
