On-chain investigator ZachXBT alleged that OpenVPP falsely claimed a partnership with U.S. power company Commonwealth Edison (ComEd). ComEd confirmed it has no partnership or plans to collaborate with OpenVPP. This follows earlier denials from SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, who clarified she had no involvement after OpenVPP suggested U.S. government ties. The project has also been linked to cryptocurrency influencers engaged in repeated promotional activities.
