A giant 12-foot golden statue of Donald Trump holding a Bitcoin was temporarily installed outside the U.S. Capitol on September 17 by a collective of crypto investors. According to organizers, the statue was intended to celebrate the Federal Reserve’s decision to cut interest rates and to symbolize cryptocurrency’s growing role in politics and finance. Organizer Hichem Zaghdoudi stated that the installation aimed to spark reflection on the future of government-issued currency. The event also paid tribute to Trump’s pro-crypto regulatory stance, though Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell has resisted Trump’s pressure for larger rate cuts. The statue remained in place from 9 AM to 4 PM.
