Vitalik Buterin highlights that the upcoming Fusaka upgrade’s PeerDAS feature will address scalability challenges by improving blob data handling while maintaining a strong focus on security.
Vitalik Buterin revealed that Ethereum’s Fusaka upgrade will introduce PeerDAS, a feature that allows nodes to verify block data using data availability sampling and erasure codes, without needing to download entire datasets. PeerDAS aims to enhance scalability while ensuring security with a gradual increase in blob data. The feature will initially require full data for broadcasting and reconstruction, but overall security is preserved as long as one honest participant exists.
