According to the Algorand Foundation, Nikolaos Bougalis, former Ripple engineering lead, will serve as CTO to advance its 2025 roadmap focused on decentralization, scalability, and enterprise blockchain adoption.
The Algorand Foundation officially announced that Nikolaos Bougalis, a veteran cryptographer and former Ripple engineering lead, has been appointed Chief Technology Officer. Bougalis, who previously oversaw development of the XRP Ledger for nearly a decade, will lead Algorand’s engineering strategy and 2025 technical roadmap. His priorities include decentralization, scalability, security, enterprise adoption, and cryptographic innovation. Based in the U.S., Bougalis will help expand Algorand’s presence among enterprises seeking compliant blockchain solutions. Algorand’s ALGO token rose 2.6% in 24 hours following the announcement.
