Algorand Foundation appointed Nikolaos Bougalis, a former Ripple engineering lead and cryptography specialist, as its new CTO to drive its 2025 roadmap, which emphasizes decentralization, scalability, security, and enterprise adoption. He will collaborate with Algorand Technologies on privacy, quantum resistance, and performance optimization, while fostering compliance-focused partnerships in the United States. Following the announcement, the ALGO token rose roughly 2.6% over 24 hours. Separately, DL Holdings acquired 2,995 Antminer S21 units from Bitmain for $41.1 million, increasing its mining fleet to 5,195 rigs with 2.1 EH/s capacity, aiming to become Hong Kong’s largest listed mining company within two years and to advance mining tokenization and AI optimization.
