Adrienne Harris, Superintendent of the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), will step down on October 17, 2025, after leading the department through pivotal crypto regulatory advancements. Harris’s tenure saw the implementation of the BitLicense and key regulatory guidance covering stablecoins and blockchain analytics. Kaitlin Asrow, NYDFS Executive Deputy Superintendent, will take over as acting head. Harris also championed the integration of traditional finance into the crypto space and supported a US-UK crypto passporting framework.
