Economist Peter Schiff and Binance founder CZ are set to debate the comparative merits of Bitcoin versus tokenized gold as viable monetary forms, following Schiff’s announcement of a gold tokenization app.
Peter Schiff, economist and crypto critic, has challenged Binance founder CZ to a public debate on whether Bitcoin or tokenized gold better fits the definition of money. Schiff’s debate offer follows the launch of his gold tokenization app, Tgold, which facilitates digital ownership and storage of physical gold. CZ criticized tokenized gold as reliant on centralized trust, contrasting it with Bitcoin's decentralized nature. The announcement of the debate comes after former President Donald Trump’s pardon of CZ. Gold prices recently hit a record $4,380 per ounce before falling to around $4,128, highlighting Schiff’s argument for gold’s stability.
