David Sacks outlines plans under President Trump to position the U.S. as the global leader in crypto and AI through clear regulation and a pro-innovation agenda.
David Sacks, appointed by President Trump as the White House AI and Crypto Czar, called cryptocurrency “the industry of the future” in a discussion with notable tech entrepreneurs. He criticized the Biden administration’s regulatory approach under SEC Chair Gary Gensler, advocating instead for clear rules to foster innovation. Sacks reaffirmed Trump’s pledge to make the U.S. the “crypto capital of the planet” and to dismiss Gensler. He highlighted plans for regulatory clarity, consumer protection, and competitiveness, alongside initiatives like the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve funded with government-owned BTC from asset forfeitures at no taxpayer cost. The reserve will hold these assets as a “digital Fort Knox” to avoid past losses from premature Bitcoin sales. He also identified crypto and AI as twin pillars of future U.S. technological leadership.
