David Sacks, Trump’s AI and Crypto Czar, urges clear U.S. regulations to secure leadership in crypto and AI, framing both as pillars of future global economic growth.
David Sacks, appointed by President Trump as AI and Crypto Czar, called cryptocurrency “the industry of the future” during a discussion with technology leaders. He criticized the Biden administration’s “regulation through enforcement” under SEC Chair Gary Gensler and emphasized the need for clear regulatory standards to keep innovation in the U.S. Sacks highlighted Trump’s pledge to make the U.S. the “crypto capital of the planet” and to fire Gensler, noting strong voter support. He outlined goals to establish consumer-protective yet innovation-friendly regulations, promote AI and crypto as central to America’s technological leadership, and advance the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve funded by forfeited BTC with no taxpayer cost. The reserve is intended as a “digital Fort Knox” to retain government Bitcoin holdings and avoid past premature sales that cost an estimated $17 billion in unrealized gains.
