Ethereum’s co-founder expands on the need for encrypted, permissionless communication and metadata protection, supporting privacy-focused projects with significant ETH donations.
Following a major U.S. bank data breach via SitusAMC, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin underscored the importance of privacy in digital systems. He advocated for end-to-end encrypted communication, permissionless account creation, and metadata privacy. Buterin donated 128 ETH each to Session and SimpleX, projects aiming to address challenges such as decentralization, metadata protection, multi-device support, and resistance to Sybil and denial-of-service attacks.
