Europol, Swiss, and German authorities dismantled Cryptomixer.io, seizing $29 million in Bitcoin and massive data linked to years of illicit fund flows.
Between November 24 and 28, 2025, Europol, Swiss, and German authorities shut down Cryptomixer.io, a prominent European hybrid crypto mixing service. The operation disabled its domain, seized three servers in Switzerland, and recovered about $29 million in Bitcoin along with 12 terabytes of data. Investigators report the service had been operational since 2016 and laundered roughly €1.3 billion in Bitcoin, allegedly facilitating criminal activities like drug sales, ransomware attacks, and fraud. The seized data may provide leads to further illicit transfers and operators, though tracing all mixed funds remains challenging.
