On Dec. 17, Bhutan stated it will contribute up to 10,000 BTC, approximately ¥134B in value, to support the long-term development of Gelephu Mindfulness City. The government will determine specific uses for the Bitcoin, including potential collateral for financing projects, in the coming months. This forms part of Bhutan’s national Bitcoin Development Strategy, which integrates hydroelectric-powered mining and long-term holding to fund national initiatives and youth-focused economic growth.
