Nvidia has agreed to acquire Groq’s AI chip assets for $20 billion in cash, excluding its GroqCloud business. Groq’s founder and key executives will join Nvidia, while Groq will continue independent operations under newly appointed CEO Simon Edwards. The deal surpasses Nvidia’s previous largest acquisition of Mellanox for $7 billion in 2019.
