CME Group will explore launching 'CME Coin' on a decentralized network, advance a tokenized cash project with Google, and expand crypto futures offerings in 2025.
CME Group CEO Terry Duffy announced the firm is exploring the launch of its own cryptocurrency, 'CME Coin,' potentially operating on a decentralized network. Separately, CME is collaborating with Google on a tokenized cash solution planned for release later in 2025. The company will also expand its crypto futures lineup, adding Cardano, Chainlink, and Stellar contracts in Q2. These initiatives reflect CME's increasing involvement in blockchain-based financial products and the broadening of its cryptocurrency derivatives market.
