PeckShield reports the Aperture Finance attacker laundered over $2.4 million in ETH through Tornado Cash following the $3.67 million DeFi breach.
PeckShield confirmed the attacker responsible for the January 25, 2026 Aperture Finance breach moved 1,242.7 ETH, worth about $2.4 million, to Tornado Cash. The exploit targeted Aperture’s V3 and V4 smart contracts, causing $3.67 million in total losses. Tornado Cash’s transaction-obscuring features make tracking and asset recovery significantly more difficult.
