On Feb. 11, Stripe introduced x402 protocol support enabling developers to charge AI agents using USDC on the Base chain through its PaymentIntents API. The update enhances autonomous blockchain transactions in commercial applications. Stripe also revealed plans for Tempo, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on global stablecoin payments, backed by a $500 million Series A round at a $5 billion valuation, with mainnet launch aimed for 2026.
