The Texas-based trust plans to stake up to 95% of its Ethereum holdings through Coinbase, setting a 0.25% annual fee with a temporary reduction for early assets.
BlackRock’s iShares has submitted a revised S-1 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC, U.S. securities regulator) for its proposed iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF, ticker ETHB. The Texas-based trust will hold Ethereum (ETH) and stake between 70% and 95% of those assets through Coinbase (a major U.S. cryptocurrency exchange). The ETF will carry an annual management fee of 0.25%, with a discounted rate of 0.12% applied to the first $2.5 billion in assets during its initial year. This filing represents an important move as BlackRock advances efforts to launch regulated Ethereum investment products incorporating staking (locking crypto to earn rewards), potentially blending traditional finance with blockchain-based yield mechanisms.
