According to Morph, native USDC issuance and Circle’s CCTP now enable 1:1 cross-chain transfers on the network, expanding infrastructure for payments, remittances, trading and DeFi use cases.
Morph said Circle’s USDC and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol are now live on the Ethereum Layer-2 network, adding native USDC support and 1:1 cross-chain transfers. According to the announcement, USDC on Morph is issued by Circle’s regulated affiliate, while CCTP works by burning tokens on the source chain and minting native USDC on the destination chain. Morph said the rollout is intended to support remittances, payment cards, payment gateways, DeFi applications and trading, adding to previously disclosed integrations including Bitget, Bulba and Stargate.
