Tempo, a payments-focused blockchain backed by Stripe and Paradigm, has launched its mainnet, moving its network into live operation for Layer-1 payment use cases including transfers, tokenized deposits, and financial services. The launch was announced on the 18th. Tempo also implemented its Machine Payments Protocol, or MPP, to support autonomous payments by AI agents. Earlier reporting said the network is designed for high-volume, low-cost stablecoin transactions and that companies including Mastercard, UBS, Klarna, and Visa had tested it during the public testnet phase.
